Distance Learning / Individualized Instruction Programs

For a school-run individualized learning program, students check out the materials and bring them back, completed, to a teacher. As with all independent learning programs, the teacher then spends individual time with the student addressing specific questions or areas requiring targeted remediation.

Check this kit out to learners. This model works well when the adult ESL instructor is available at the elementary school when the parents are bringing their children to school. The instructor is available one morning a week to assign a complete IY lesson to each parent which is returns the next week for correction of the written materials, clarification, and opportunity for additional help. The parent leaves with the next lesson, including all components: DVD, CD, and workbook pages.

"Teachers all report students react well to the engaging story lines and easy-to-follow workbook, which keeps them actively participating. The combination of videos, CDs, and grammar activities provides a comprehensive and effective approach to language learning."
Trish Kerns, Sacramento City Unified School District
